ANNOUNCEMENTS 

PARSONAGE HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE: Pastor and Linda invite you into their home his holiday season.  Saturday, December 10th from Noon to 3:00 PM

CHRISTMAS CAROLING IN COLERIDGE: On Saturday December 10th please join the Coleridge Community to sing Christmas carols.  Meet at Park View Haven beginning at 4:00 PM at Park View Haven.  We will then go to the Embers from approximately 4:30 to 5:00 PM.  If weather permits we will visit some residents.  We will travel in ehicles and not the flatbed as in the past.  Please join us!!

HOLIDAY POINTSETTIAS: Starting the week of December 4 you are able to bring pointsettias to decorate the chancel in preparation for out Christmas celebration.  Contact the Altar Guild with any questions.

Muscles Needed:  The ladies of the church will be displaying quilts and kits they worked on over the year during the weekend of October 22 and 23.  They are in need of help to set out their items on Saturday the 22nd, then taking down and boxing up on Monday and Tuesday, October 24 and 25.  If you are available to help please let the church office or Claudet Wege know.

Trunk or Treat/Healing Service:  Two community events will be held on October 30, 2016.  The Trunk or Treat event will start at 4:00 PM.  Load up your vehicles with goodies and/or your family in costumes to enjoy this fun get together.  Check the church bulletin for more information.  Following Trunk or Treat there is a healing service at 6:00 PM.  We will be able to come together and reflect on the current state of the country.

Loved ones pictures requested:  Pictures will be displayed of our loved ones who have passed, for All Saints Day, on November 5th and 6th.  Please bring pictures of your loved ones in memorial the weekend of October 29th and 30th.  The pictures will be set on the window sills during the week for the weekend services.

October 9, 2016 Fall Harvest Festival: Immanuel Lutheran will be hosting its annual harvest dinner on Sunday October 9.  Serving starts at 11:30 AM.  Transportation will be provided for this free will donation meal.  Sign up and donation sheets are located on a table in the narthex.

September 11, 2016 Gods Work, Our Hands: Schedules and sign-up sheets are available on a table in the narthex.  Many areas are open in which we can help with this great event being held at our church.  God has given us the ability to go forth and serve our community, all are encouraged to part in this opportunity.

Sunday School Kickoff Sunday.  The children of our congregation will be looking forward to another year of Sunday School.  The starting day will be September 11, 2016.  The children will also be singing during the church service.

School Kit Donation:  This month both Circles are collecting items for school kits.  A box for donations is located on a table in the narthex.  All items are appreciated; some items especially needed are rulers, pencil sharpeners, scissors and pens.  Thank you for helping with this stewardship project!

Sunday School Kick-off Sunday is September 11th.

Sunday school helpers needed; We are looking for teachers, craft leaders, mentors and snack makers, everyone is welcome! Contact Amy Hall or Pastor if you're interested.  Be part of another great year of placing the Word of God on a childs heart.

CHURCH DIRECTORY PICTURES:  Memories last a lifetime.  Get your family pictures made for the church directory.  Sign up sheets for time slots are on the narthex table.  Dates of picture sessions are July 7, 8 and 9.  Contact Linda Lambert if you have any questions.

FOOD DRIVE DURING PICTURES:  Receive a discount on your pictures, bring in a canned good or non-perishable food item during your time slot.

THANK YOU FROM PASTOR AND LINDA: They would like to express their utmost appreciation for their time away.  Pastor and Linda spent the last two weeks in the refreshing Rocky Mountains.  They are so thankful for their time spent at the Luther Academy in the Rockies. 

COLERIDGE COMMUNITY VBS 2016:  This year’s community VBS will be held July 25-28.  The children will be learning about the heroes from the bible,  Children from the area are invited to join in the fun!  We encourage any grandkids visiting over this week to also attend.  If you are interested in being part of the stories of God, contact Pastor, Amy Hall, or Susan Kurtzhals.

QUILT AUCTION PREVIEW EVENT:  Tuesday, July 19 from 2:00-4:00 PM, Camp Carol Joy Holling will be hosting an Open House for all to enjoy an afternoon of fellowship from other quilt lovers and preview the one-of-a-kind collection of quilts that will be up for auction on July 30th.


MAY 2016

Summer worship time change - beginning Sunday June 5 and continuing through Labor Day - Sunday morning services begin at 9:00 AM.  Saturday night service time does not change, 7:00 PM.

Congratulations to Cameron Eddie who graduated from Northeast Community College with a degree in Physical Therapy.  We have enjoyed watching Cam share her love of our Lord with the youth of our congregation and wish her much success in the future!

High School Graduation 2016:  Immanuel Lutheran recognizes our 2016 seniors on their graduation; congratulations to Carrie Benson, Matthew Dunn, Jordan Jansen, Austin Vogle, Brant Eddie and Skylar Heydon.  Great things are awaiting each of you in the future, and know your savior is beside you in your journeys.

APRIL 2016

INSTALLATION for Pastor Russell Lambert will be Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Immanuel Lutheran.  Pastor Gary Panko, Archivist/Mobility and Congregational Care Associate from the Nebraska Synod, is leading the installation service. 

Preaching will be Pastor Diana Kuhl, currently serving at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Omaha NE.  Her message will be based on text chosen by Pastor Jim Stelzl, currently serving at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in North Little Rock AR.  Both pastors graduated from Seminary with Pastor Russ.

THE LAST DAY OF SUNDAY SCHOOL is April 24 for the 2015-2016 school year.  The children will be celebrating during the education hour and will also be sharing the books of the Bible with us during the worship service.

MEET WITH PASTOR.  Pastor Russ is looking forward to meeting each of you.  He has set up available times for everyone to sign up. You will find scheduling sheets on a table in the narthex.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to help freshen up the parsonage with painting before Pastor and Linda make it their new home.  Please contact a council member or the church office if you are able to assist!

Welcome to Pastor Russ - Immanuel Lutheran will have a new voice at the beginning of this month. We look forward to new beginnings and learning together about our Lord. Coleridge and Immanuel thank you and Linda for accepting the call of our savior to be with our congregation and be “God With Us.”

Thank you to Pastor Debra Valentine for taking us under her wing and being our faithful leader for these last two years. Although we will miss her, we wish her well in her new home and congregation.

MARCH 2016 

FAREWELL OPEN HOUSE FOR INTERIM PASTOR DEBRA VALENTINE will be Wednesday evening, March 30,2016 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM in the church basement.  Her last day of service to Immanuel Lutheran is Sunday March 27, 2016.  Please join us as we thank Pastor Deb for graciously serving both our congregation and our community!

NEWS FROM THE SYNOD:  The synod received word from Pastor Russ on unofficially accepting our call as pastor.  It is planned for him to begin worshipping with us the weekend of April 2 and 3, 2016.

EASTER LILIES FOR THE ALTAR.  If you would like to provide a Lily for the altar for Easter Sunday and the weekends following, please leave them in the kitchen beginning Holy Week.  The Altar Guild will place them on the altar.

SUMMER MOWING.  If you are interested in mowing our church lawn or parsonage lawn, and/or the cemetery, please submit a bid to the church council by the March 21st council meeting.

SPECIAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING next Sunday, March 13th.  To be held following the 10:00 AM worship service (approximately 11:00 AM).  Two items require action; 1) Decide if the council should extend a call to Pator Russ and 2) Compensation package to be offered.  Your presence is needed for an official vote.

HOLY WEEK COMMUNITY LENTEN BREAKFAST on Wednesday morning, March 23, from 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM.  The Evangelism committee has a sign-up sheet for contributions to help with this ecumenical breakfast during Holy Week.

GIRL SCOUT SUNDAY OBSERVANCE, March 6.  Thank you to our scouts who took part in the worship service this morning.

FEBRUARY 2016

Thank you to Pastor Russ Lambert and his wife Linda for joining us this weekend and sharing the love of our Lord.

 Council Chairman Bob Hansen announced that the congregation will be voting on Sunday March 13, 2016 concerning a call to Pastor Russell Lambert.

SPECIAL VISIT: A personal interview and visit from a prospective call candidate, Pastor Russ, is scheduled for the weekend of February 27/28.  Make plans to worship with us for either the Saturday evening service or the Sunday morning service.  Please lift up special prayers for safe travels on his journey.

February 27th - An opportunity to listen to Pastor Russ at the 7:00 PM evening worship service with a Meet & Greet cookie and coffee social afterwards.

February 28th - An opportunity to listen to Pastor Russ at the 10:00 AM morning worship service with a pot luck dinner following the worship service.  The Evangelism committee will provide the main entree and asks the congregation to bring salads and desserts to the meal (this change was added after the letters were sent).

Lenten Study continues on Tuesday nights.

Wednesday Night Lent Services.  Readers are needed for the drama shared for the Lenten messages, there is a sign up sheet on the table in the narthex.

JANUARY 2016

BOY SCOUT SUNDAY OBSERVANCE, February 7:  Thank you to our scouts who took part in the morning worship service.

FAT TUESDAY:  Tuesday, February 9, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM the Luther League is sponsoring a pancake supper.  A free will offering will be taken to help with activities and projects for the Luther League.  Join us for food, fun, fellowship and fundraising!

WORSHIP WITH US: Ash Wednesday service, February 10 at 7:00 PM.  There will be imposition of ashes and the rite of Holy Communion.

LENTEN STUDY: Pastor will hold a lenten study on Tuesday nights beginning February 16.  From "The Book of Faith" series she will be using the "Lenten Study: Seven Wonders of the Word" by Kathryn A Kleinhans.  If you are interested in taking part with Pastor, or on your own, please use the sign-up sheet in the narthex this weekend (Jan 30/31) so materials can be ordered.

LENTEN SERVICES:  Wednesday night services during lent will be at 7:00 PM from February 17 through March 16.  Readers are needed for the drama shared for the message.  On the table in the narthex is a sign-up sheet for those who choose to read.

The January, February and March edition of Christ in Our Home is available in the narthex in both regular and large print.

OFFERING ENVELOPES for 2016 are now being stored in the office and are available upon request.

ANNUAL MEETING, Sunday January 17, 2016 at 11:00 AM

ANNUAL REPORT has been mailed.  The office thanks everyone who turned in their reports in such a timely fashon.  Your diligence was very appreciated.  Please bring your report with you to the Annual Meeting.

January prayer ventures were not included in the monthly Church Talk due to file issues with the ELCA.  The office now has the copies made and they are available on the table in the narthex.

Amanda Hefner Seminary Collection:  The gold collection box has been placed in the narthex for you to help support Amanda in her journey of sharing the Good News of our Lord.  The box will be out for the next two weekends if you would like to contribute (January 9/10 and 16/17).  You may also lift her up in your prayers in support of her stewardship to our Lord.

Christmas Cleaning:  The Council is offering to anyone in our congregation a chance to recycle some of the old ornaments from the narthex tree.  If you are interested in these items please let the office know.  The items will only be available for a limited time and after that point they will be offered to the community.

100th BIRTHDAY OPEN HOUSE for Gib Brummels on Sunday, January 10, 2016 from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM in the church basement.

DECEMBER 2015

OFFERING ENVELOPES for 2016 are on the table in the narthex along with a sign up sheet.  Please sign on the indicated line that corresponds with your chosen box number.

Children's Christmas Program is scheduled for Sunday, December 13th during the 10:00 AM service.  Our children and youth will be sharing their program, "A Piece of Christmas."  Plan on attending and witnessing the birth of Jesus as a piece of fabric weaves its way through the Christmas story.  The children will remind us that the best piece of Christmas is the Savior . . . .  the One who fills our lives with love, joy and hope.

Living Nativity planned in Coleridge:  On December 6 at 4:00 PM the birth of our Lord Jesus will be told in a live nativity at Memorial Park.  After the story is told there will be a gathering for all with desserts and warm drinks.

Volunteers needed for live nativity.  The committee is asking for volunteers to participate in the greatest story every told.  They are in need of shepherds, angels, wiseman, children to play the part of animals, adult and children's choir members.  A sign-up sheet is in the narthex.

NOVEMBER 2015

Christmas Caroling following November 29th service

We will warm our tummies with a tavern after the morning service and begin caroling after the meal is served (12:30 PM).
We are in need of flatbeds, straw bales and faithful drivers!
This is an ecumenical event - invite your friends - all are invited to join in sharing the Good News of the Christmas season throughout Coleridge.
If you don't feel like caroling consider tending to the kitchen after the carolers have left on their journey.

Veteran's Day Program: On Wednesday November 11 American Legion Post 114 and LCC middle school will be presenting their annual program in the gym at 1:15 PM.  Everyone is invited to attend.

Fall Discipleship Days: Tuesday November 10 at St. John's Lutheran in Randolph.  They are asking Pastor and representatives from each church to attend.  The evening will be centered on how our congregation practices discipleship.  If interested, please let the office or Pastor know.

The call committee reports they recently received a candidate name from the synod and will soon be setting up an interview.

OCTOBER 2015

Blessings By the Bushel is a program from Nebraska Lutheran Outdoor Ministries.  The program provides an opportunity for your harvest this year.  The seeds you plant in your fields can help the seeds of righteousness that are sown in the hearts of the NLOM youth.  Find information about this program on the narthex table or click this link.

Harvest Dinner - Sunday October 11, 2015
The Evangelical Committee is planning their 2nd Annual Harvest Dinner.  Everyone in the community is invited to the meal and fellowship with our friends in Christ.

Sign up Sheets for the Harvest Dinner are on the north end of the table of the table in the narthex.  The evangelical committee appreciates all that can be offered to the bounty of the meal.
 
SEPTEMBER 2015

Sunday services return to a 10:00 AM start time on September 13th

SUNDAY SCHOOL/CONFIRMATION KICK-OFF:

Sunday, September 13th will be the first Sunday for the education hour to begin this fall.  Sunday school children will meet downstairs with a fun introduction to the year.  Children ages 3 years through sixth grade are encouraged to attend.  Parents are also invited and will be able to see how important Sunday School is in teaching our little ones the word of our Lord.

The confirmation class will meet in the confirmation room with Susan Kurtzhals and Pastor Deb.

DIVINE DRIVE-IN

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets!  Immanuel Lutheran (Evangelism Committee) will be celebrating our youth by hosting a movie night on Sunday, September 13th at 6:30 PM, (serving begins at 6:30 PM, show time approximately 7:00 PM) on the back lawn and south parking lot.  The featured movie will be "The Wizard of Oz." Hot dogs, popcorn and pop will be served for our movie experience.  All ages are invited for this evening of fun.

LUTHER LEAGUE KICK-OFF

High School Students are invited for an evening of games and pizza at the church on September 20th at 5:00 PM.  You will also be setting up a schedule for the year.

AUGUST 2015

Our Ministry Site Profile is completed.  It has been posted to the Nebraska Synod's website for potential pastors to view.  The Congregational Profile has also been completed.  Click here to view.  It provides detailed information regarding our congregation.

Thank you to the congregation for their input.  The committee worked diligently with all the information and were able to complete this beginning step.  Our gratitude goes to the committee members.

JULY 2015

No July 4th Saturday worship service - Due to the holiday falling on a weekend and Pastor's vacation time, the Council decided to not hold a Saturday service on July 4th.  Sunday morning service will be at its usual 9:00 AM time without Holy Communion. Holy Communion will be offered the following week, July 12th. Serving schedule will also be adjusted.

DIVINE DRIVE-IN - Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, Immanuel Lutheran (Evangelism Committee) is hosting a movie night Sunday, July 12th at 8:00 PM, on the back lawn and south parking lot.  The featured movie will be "Heaven Is For Real."  Hot dogs, popcorn and pop will be served.

Carol Joy Holling Camp Quilt Auction Preview Open House - WIll be held Tuesday July 14, 2015 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM.  The event will also include dessert and beverages.  If you would like to view quilts on online, Click here to visit the website.

Carol Joy Holling Camp Quilt Auction - Carol Joy Holling Camp will be having their annual quilt aution on Saturday, July 25th.  Activities start at 9:00 AM at the campgrounds, with auction starting at 9:30 AM.  Lunch will be available on the grounds with swimming, hayrack rides and camp tours for all to enjoy in the afternoon.

TELLING OUR STORY:  A night of story telling from all decades is planned for July 29, 2015 at 7:00 PM.  Gathering as a church family we have a chance to share the life of our church through our own life experiences.  Reflecting on the past can be a great opportunity to grow on a personal level as well as a spiritual level.  Dessert and drinks will be provided.

 From the Sunday School -  October 2014 Mission Accomplished! We made Prayer & Get Well Cards to send to members of Immanuel Lutheran & others in our local area.

NEW BANNERS are hanging in the front and rear of our sanctuary.  The banners, banner hanging bars and wall mounts were made possible with proceeds from the pancake feed this summer, which was organized by our Evangelism Committee.  Watch for more banner information in your upcoming December Church Talk!
